Something new with Muay Thai
It is always strange when you make a decision to try or do something new. There is this uncertainty that comes along with it. Thoughts and counter thoughts. You probably begin by considering the pros and cons and the statistical possibility of success or failure. But if you are anything like me, you would have tried so many new things to know that it is always a fulfilling experience whether it turned out as you hoped or not. It is always exhilarating.
So what new thing do I want you to try today? It's simple really. I want you to go far away from your comfort zone to experience the thai ancient art of Muay Thai. Do you know what this is? I am sure you do, but just in a situation that I am wrong, let me explain. It is a form of martial arts like kung fu, taekwondo, jujitsu, aikido, or good ol' karate. It is nicknamed the art of eight limbs because of the points of striking contact. These are the fists, elbows, knees and feet. If you still need a more vivid description, go see the 2003 hit movie Ong bak.
Now I know you want to travel the world, go on vacations and experience life in general. That is super cool but if you don't add this to your list, you would be selling yourself short. Think about it critically, you hop on a vacation airplane by your lonesome or with the family (doesn't really matter) headed to Thailand. You touch down in Bangkok the capital. You look around the civilization, the tall buildings and the city malls and parks at the city center. Nothing new, as a matter of fact, you probably have better looking wherever you came from.
So in search of something intriguing, you board a local flight headed to another location, say Phuket. You experience its famous white beaches, tradition food, cultural background and monuments and most importantly, their exotic women (only single guys here).
To top up the experience you sign up for Suwit Muay Thai. You begin the rigorous routine of daily physical exertion. You obviously are not into it to become a professional MMA fighter, but you give it your best shot. You begin to feel better physically; your body blood circulation becomes better as your heart becomes a lot more active, you lose weight rapidly as your metabolism switches gears to overdrive as it is trying to keep up. You feel great, you sleep better, and you feel a lot more confident because of the aura of invincibility and masculinity martial arts training gives you.
In three months or less or whenever you deem appropriate, you pick your bags and belongings and head back home fulfilled and energized and ready to face the hardships and hassles of life again. Best of all, you have now have one hell of a story to tell your grand kids.
